NHTI to Host Exhibitions of Student Work
Student Success on Display in NHTI Capstone Presentations
CONCORD – For the first time since 2019, NHTI – Concord’s Community College will host the Exhibition of Student Work, an event highlighting our students’ capstone research projects. The event is open to the public and will be held in Grappone Hall on the NHTI Concord campus on April 28, 2022, from 5-7 p.m.
“This evening of exploration showcases the intellect and creativity of our students, but it also reflects the efforts of our faculty to nurture talent and to challenge our students in pursuit of their educational goals,” said Dr. Mark Rubinstein, chancellor of the Community College System of New Hampshire and NHTI’s interim president. “This exhibition is a reflection of the shared commitment of our faculty and our students to teaching and learning, and to their ability to persevere and excel during such a tumultuous time for our nation and the world.”
More than 100 students across the disciplines of Nursing, English, Architectural Engineering Technology, Philosophy, Education, Biology, Environmental Science, and Computer Engineering Technology will be presenting capstone research projects. NHTI’s The Eye student literary journal and Architectural Engineering Technology Club will also participate.
“We are thrilled to showcase our student accomplishments,” said Dr. Andrew Fisher, vice president of Academic Affairs at NHTI. “They have worked hard over the course of the academic year to produce truly amazing presentations that enrich both our academic community and New Hampshire as a whole. Our students show us what academic and career success means every day.”
Among the display presentations are:
- Verifying Altered Gene Expression in Pancreatic Cancer using Biotechnology
- Developing an Erosion Mitigation Plan along the Merrimack River
- Recognizing Adverse Drug Events in the Older Adult
- Aging at Home: Modifiable Risk Factors and Community Resources
- Across the Reservation: Problems with Access and Disparities in the Native American Health System
- The Truth About Beauty
- The Complex Truths About Motherhood
Masks are required for this event, and parking is available in the McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center.
Other events held on campus this spring to highlight student work include:
- The NHTI Visual Arts department will host its popular capstone event/artist reception on Saturday, April 30, 2022, in Farnum Hall from 5-7 p.m. This event is open to the public and showcases the work of our student artists. The gallery-style exhibit will also be open to the public from May 2-6 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
- The NHTI Architectural Engineering Department will host its Senior Final Design Presentations on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Grappone Hall Auditorium.
