NHTI Receives Grant from Northeast Delta Dental Foundation

Concord, NH – The Allied Dental Education Department is pleased to announce that NHTI – Concord’s Community College is the recipient of a $150,000 grant from Northeast Delta Dental to support operating costs of both the dental education program and the Community Dental Clinic. The clinic exists to provide an avenue for clinical requirements needed to prepare students for safe and effective practice, and meet the accrediting standards of the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). The Community Dental Clinic also services an important community health need by providing access to care for many who cannot afford or access preventive services. The NHTI Community Dental Clinic services include adult and child prophylaxis, digital radiographs, and sealants.

The operating support this grant provides will be spread over two years. NHTI’s Allied Dental Education Program is the only CODA-accredited dental assisting and dental hygiene programs offered in New Hampshire, and is graduating a well-trained and highly in-demand workforce, while providing a critical community public oral health service through the community clinic. Since the department’s inception, NHTI has graduated 887 students in dental assisting and 1,206 students in dental hygiene, thus having an extraordinary impact on the profession.
