NHTI’s Teacher Education Conversion Program Adds Computer Science Certification
CONCORD, N.H. – To address the critical need for Computer Science teachers in the workforce, NHTI has developed a NH State Board of Education certified Teacher Certification Program in Computer Science. This post-baccalaureate program is designed for people who have completed a bachelor’s degree and would like to become a teacher or obtain an additional teacher certification in this field. Affordable and flexible programming options including evening, online, and summer courses allow for work, school, life balance. This program prepares interested candidates to become licensed to teach Computer Science in NH K-12 schools.
NHTI is pleased to be able to offer this program in addition to the other NH State Board fully approved programs in middle and high school sciences, mathematics, special education, and ESOL. The mission of the NHTI Teacher Education Conversion Program (TECP) is to work with adult learners, in the NH critical shortage teaching areas, to assist these career changers in becoming licensed teachers.
NHTI will hold an Information Night on Wednesday, July 31st, 5:30 pm in the NHTI Library living room for those interested in more information. Come and meet the faculty, and see what program completers and current candidates in the program have to share about their experiences in the TECP.
