Friday Night Film Series: Night Train to Munich

An intrepid British spy boards the NIGHT TRAIN TO MUNICH in a desperate attempt to rescue a scientist and his daughter from the Nazis. A wartime thriller with just the right amount of puckish humor, a very fine cast including Rex Harrison, Margaret Lockwood, and Paul Henreid (before appearing as Victor Laszlo in Casablanca), and excellent production values. The film, masterfully directed by the legendary Carol Reed (who also made such iconic films as The Third Man, Our Man in Havana, and Odd Man Out) marks the return of characters Charters and Caldicott (played by Basil Radford and Nauton Wayne, respectively). Stylish, witty, fast, dramatic, and politically charged – an excellent wartime spy thriller.
