Learn about the history and practice of Petrykivka painting from Ukrainian folk artist Hanna Oliynyk! Ukrainian Petrykivka painting—with its characteristic vibrant patterns and specific technique—was inducted into UNESCO’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2013. Event attendees will get to create their very own Petrykivka painting as we explore this living tradition of symbolic ornamental painting. This is a free event and all materials will be provided by NHTI’s Learning Commons Library.
