NHTI Spring Scholarship Awards at NHTI

CONCORD – NHTI – Concord’s Community College awarded more than $36,500 in scholarships to 42 students from 23 scholarship funds for the Spring 2021 semester. NHTI President Gretchen E. Mullin-Sawicki said, “During these uncertain times, we want to enthusiastically celebrate the success of our students. Balancing school, employment, family, and all that comes with obligations can be daunting but our students rise to the challenge. As challenges increase, the need for scholarships increases; and these funds have become even more essential in supporting students with their education goals and career pathways.”

Nathan Winslow, a Computer Engineering Technology student, told us, “As a student who took a 15-year hiatus, receiving this scholarship gave me a boost of confidence that helped propel my studies into a positive manner. This scholarship helped me procure my books for class and ensured I was ready to succeed. I appreciate the help.”

The Grace K. Orzechowski Memorial Scholarship was established in 2020 in honor of Grace Orzechowski, a 24-year-old student enrolled in the NHTI’s Radiation Therapy program. Grace’s two-year battle with brain cancer never stopped her from continuing to pursue her goal of providing care for other cancer patients. The Orzechowski family knows, “Grace’s courageous determination to fight on will inspire future students enrolled in the Radiation Therapy program to pursue their dreams of a meaningful career in healthcare.”

Students in a wide array of disciplines such as Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Criminal Justice, General Studies, Liberal Arts, Accounting, Business, Robotics and Automation Engineering, Civil Engineering, Radiologic Technology, Paramedic Emergency Medicine, and Education all benefitted from these 24 scholarship funds and expressed their gratitude in writing to the donors or administrators of each fund.
