NHTI Awards Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Rebecca "Becker" Gibson

CONCORD, NH—The NHTI – Concord’s Community College chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), an internationally recognized honor society for students attending 2-year colleges, has awarded Rebecca “Becker” Gibson the Alpha Upsilon Omicron PTK chapter scholarship for the Spring 2024 semester.

NHTI’s Alpha Upsilon Omicron chapter reflects PTK’s mission to recognize and encourage scholarship among students, develop opportunities for leadership, fellowship, and service, and provide an intellectual climate for continued academic excellence.  This scholarship provides tuition assistance to an active member of the Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Upsilon Omicron chapter while they continue their NHTI program of study.

Gibson is highly involved in PTK. She is now the president of the chapter and has played a significant role in NHTI’s PTK chapter success. The chapter produced an award-winning Honors in Action project that centered on the value of roleplay in higher education.

In 2019-20, members of NHTI’s PTK chapter established this scholarship to leave a legacy. Donations to this scholarship can be made online by selecting NHTI Alpha Upsilon Omicron Chapter of PTK Scholarship Fund from the dropdown menu at https://givenhcc.org/where-to-give/nhti/.
