NHTI Wins at USCAA Nationals

Men’s Cross Country Places 3rd

CONCORD, NH – NHTI – Concord’s Community College proudly announces the Cross Country Team finished 3rd in the USCAA National Cross Country Championship that was held in Virginia Beach on November 12. The men ran on a wet 8K Course. Michael Mott of Alton was 4th with a time of 28:47. Ethan Dodenhoff of Loudon was 10th at 30:28. The other NHTI scorers were: Nicholas Dalton of Goffstown 23th at 31:41, Jamie Barrett of Manchester 29th at 32:48, and Rovane Nickson 37th at 32:57. Mott was a first team All American and Dodenhoff was a second team All American. Chloe Asthotz of Henniker was 13th in the women’s race. She ran the 6K course in 28:30 and was second team All American. Asthotz and Holly White of Concord were honored as Academic All Americans.

The 3rd place USCAA plaque was presented by the entire team to Athletic Director Paul Hogan at a celebratory gathering in the Student Center on Monday following the championships. Congratulatory remarks were given by President Mullin-Sawicki, Head Coach and YSCC Coach of the Year, Perry Seagroves, and volunteer coaches Ellen Raffio and Tom Walton, along with NHTI supporter, Tom Raffio of Delta Dental. The coaches praised the team for their kindness on top of their academic and athletic abilities. Hogan congratulated the team and the coaches telling them they should feel very proud to have competed against so many larger 4-year colleges and shared his hopes that they continue focusing on academics and athletics with pride. The plaque will take its place of honor along with other athletic excellence and All American awards which are proudly displayed outside the Athletics Office and Gymnasium.
